Porcine blue ear virus is caused by porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus, which can infect pigs with fever, anorexia, late abortion, premature birth, stillbirth, weak fetus and mummified fetus in pregnant sows, pigs of various ages (especially piglets). It is a highly contagious disease characterized by respiratory disturbances. PRRS virus is divided into two genotypes, European type and North American type. After infection of pigs, it leads to immunosuppression of the body and persistent infection, causing severe economic losses to pig farms.
