PseudoRabies Virus (PRV)

Porcine pseudorabies is an acute infectious disease of pigs caused by pseudorabies virus (PrV). The disease is fulminant in pigs. It can cause abortion and stillbirth in pregnant sows, infertility in boars, mass death of newborn piglets, dyspnea and growth stagnation in fattening pigs, etc. It is one of the major infectious diseases that endanger the global pig industry.
